a little help for a noob, please :)
Ullo...
I've d/led and installed Deadbeat's ui mod - very nice it is too...however, I can't seem to find a way to turn on extra hotbars - can anyone point me in the right direction please? many thanks mac |
The hotbar menu is a bit harder to bring up now. I don't use DeaDBeaT's UI but you have to right click on the very edge of the hotbar now, not on any of the icons. If you can get the menu to come up there will be an option to open another hotbar.

Othesus is correct, if your not showing the spinners try to right click where they would be to bring up then menu.
Might take moving your cursor around a bit but you'll find the sweet spot. (and feel free to bug this) :) |

thanks folks, will give it a try asap...of course, if it all goes pear shaped my next thread will be..
'How the Varking Hell do I uninstal this ui????' :D :p <edit> hah! saying that, it now crashes the game every time..arg! So, how does one uninstal it? Gone to add/remove programs, but bits still remain....some help here? LOl TBH Im having no luck with EQ2 at all..I ordered the full game (all three expansions included) and got the wrong game sent to me, now this...I think it dislikes me, lol |
ok, used remove programs to remove the custom ui, uninstalled then reinstalled eq2, updated etc....only to find exactly the same problem...deadbeat is irremovable, LOl...
so...how does one get rid of his files? Sorry deadbeat - it looked great but now all it does is crash and I can;t seem to shift you, so to speak. I did try the adding of the lines posted in another thread, but that didn;t work either. So, please, how do I do a complete clean of your files? cheers all :( |
Sounds like the uninstall process, which wasn't necessary at all in order to stop using the custom UI, didn't completely remove the EverQuest 2 directory (that's why I've got in the habit of manually deleting any residual folders/directories after uninstalling something).
Anyway, all you need to do to remove a custom UI you dont want to use anymore is to delete the eq2.ini file from your root EQ2 directory, which will force the game to create a new one and load the default UI upon next game session. You may as well delete the folder containing all the files for the custom UI you don't want to use anymore while you're at it. If you find a different UI you want to try, don't delete the eq2.ini file. Just go in and edit it to point at the new UI. |
c:\program files\sony\everquest ii\ui\
delete anything that is not the "Default" folder. ...and... c:\program files\sony\everquest ii\eq2.ini delete this file |
thanks guys....the game still crashes after I hit the play button, though the ui itself seems absent...so...now what? LOl...not sure what else to do. As you may have gathered Im not that computer literate so its my own fault for fiddling with something I don't fully understand...again, if anyoen can help solve the crash issue.....Ive checked the ui.xml as in the other thread and the lines of text are present.

You might be getting the new UI crash bug here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/p...50151 To fix that, it sounds like you have to delete your server_character_eq2_uisettings.ini file (or restore it from a backup) and place your windows and set up your chat channels again. Then don't move your bags around until it's fixed. |
hmm..could well be.
and the path would be..? I tried a search for that file as you had it but no joy...I tried creating an alt as an experiment and yup, Im able to log in and play without hassle..... thanks for the help and the patience, lol <edit> ang on, I may just have found it, lol |
