Let me summarize the problem and resolution for everyone.

There is a known bug on SOE's end affecting virtually every pre-KOS indoor zone. These zones were not designed to have maps to begin with so were never setup to include fog layer data. Previously the layer was disabled in those zones, so wasn't an issue for our custom maps and POIs.

As a result of changes made in the EOF expansion, an empty fog layer is now overlaying and blocking the custom POIs provided by EQ2Maps for these zones. This prevents clicking most POIs and icons on the map and disables tooltips for them.

This is not a problem we "The EQ2Maps team" can fix without causing other problems. SOE needs to change code on their end. SOE is already aware of the problem and do plan to fix it. Since its not a problem for any zones with an "official" map, it may not be a top priority and may be a while befor it is fixed.

There is a work around...

Using FetishNightfall:
The Fog button should be visible in the upper right corner of the map. Click it twice, then however many times it takes to set it unchecked.

If for some reason the fog button isn't visible, use the command below to make it visible.

Using every other version of EQ2Maps:
1) type the following into your chat box to display the fog button (Caps matter).
Code:

/show_window MainHUD.Map.FogCheckbox
2) Click the now visible Fog button twice, then however many times it takes to set it unchecked.
3) Now click the World tab and back to Zone map.

Your POIs should be unblocked.

If a MOD couple please sticky or announce this to cut down some of the questions?

Bump! Thank you. This came in handy.

Good to know it isn't my end that is the problem.

The bad thing is I cannot get FetishUI to work ... and now I have no idea where anything is! Argh ...

Ah well, I'll try to be patient. Though EQ2Maps saves me alot of time (when not in an indoor zone hehe) ;)

Newbie Question

trying to make the ingame macro to work, I can manually type

/show_window MainHUD.Map.FogCheckbox

in the chat box and it work, i tried to make an in game macro but I honestly don't know how to get it to show up in the chat box. Or is not supposed to show up in chat, just execute?

I don't think any of the slash commands appear in the in the chat window (such as:

Joeschmo says to the guild "Blah blah blah"
Johndoe says out of character "Yadda yadda yadda"
/show_window MainHUD.Map.FogCheckbox
Yomamma shouts "Lalalalalala")

It should just execute the command without any visual clue of it being done (except in this case it should produce a window)

I believe the only time anything appears in the chat window as a result of using slash commands is if you use the slash commands for emotes (and, of course, some other text-based results like /who or /help).

this command does not bring up a window for me =( any help?

FloridaFringe 01-14-2007 07:00 PM

It won't bring up a window but rather place a box in the upper right corner of the map window. Make sure to capitalize when needed as it does make a difference.

anomic 01-15-2007 09:54 AM

i already have the box in the map window without using the command, but the trick that worked was after using the command, click twice making sure box is unchecked, then click world tab then back to current zone tab. Thanx much! =)

FloridaFringe 01-15-2007 03:33 PM

Just note that if you already have the box then you don't need to use the command. Just simply make sure the box is unchecked, switch to world tab then back to current zone tab and you should be all set to roll.
