Back Again
After a Hiatus from EQ2 of nearly 18 months or more our tribe came back and I discover that my latest system seems to not like certain software any more.
For some reason I keep getting an application error with the EQ2Map_Updater.exe, "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." I copied the backup of EQ2 to my HD and patched it up to Faydwer etc. ok and I checked the addons which I already had for latest versions and compatibility. The only other thing MIGHT be my 64bit OS and CPU? Any and all help greatly appreciated... :nana: The Wiz that Waz... |
Do you have .NET 1.1 and 2.0 installed?

Net Framework
Sorry I took so long to reply.
Yes I do have Net Frameworks 1.0 & 2.0 installed. I run a LOT of Net framework dependant software (inc. Wow PSNL PVT Server) and have been for the last 2 years after leaving the EQ2 ;). I am guessing the crashing is a XP64bit issue unless someone else can tell me it works on THEIR 64bit Dualcore Duo2 XP system fine. Funny thing is it appears none of the addons are kicking in no matter how many times I uninstall and redo them. Weird how these all worked fine 18 months ago. Only using the most recent Mods as well to make sure they are compatible. :( Oh well.... The Wiz that Waz |

Forgot that this was a brand new machine a month ago. My old 3.4 P4 had BOTH installed but this one only had 1.1 which was required for the Emu I run. Seems it is NOT entirely compatible with the XP 64bit either as I had to reinstall and run a string to the command line to make it support XP64bit afterwards. Also went over the entire setup of Addons and found that I also failed to notice 64bit XP has 2 Program Files folders, one for 32bit and one for 64bit! Suffice it to say that my path was NOT right since I just copied EQ2 there from a CD and neglected to check properly. EQ2 runs fine but I missed this little gem of pathing with my EQ2Mapupdater cfg - E:\Program Files (x86)\EverQuest II\" (yes I used the wrong brackets as well the first time!) LOL. it works like clockwork again now. Thanks and hope your Xmas is a treat. |
