Funny Charactors in main window
 

The following characters appear in the window everytime I run the updater

Thats weird.

All I can think of is redownload the updater.

What language setting have you got your PC set to? Also have you been playing with any fonts at all?

Still get the funny characters - no font changes that I know of.

I have removed and resintalled after downloading again but still garbage

maybe your encoding is set erroneously? or maybe there's corrupted data...
