No Griffin Handler Icon? anyone else have this?
I have noticed, that at least in Steppes there are no winged icons for the Griffin handler. Is there a way to fix this? It is really annoying not knowing where they are on the map. They do show up but they are npc dots so it is hard to disinquish them from all the other blue dots. I believe all the other zones still use the wings but for some reason Steppes and Common lands I think dont.

I believe with some (relatively) recent changes/data that SOE has provided, its now possible to use multiple maps that actually show what they should for instances that use the same zone ioplan.
Example: Halls of Fate & the trial zones -- they're the same zone ioplan but because they have a different instance id or whatever its called, its now possible for the folks @ EQ2MAP to differentiate maps for them. |
so this means? hehe sorry I am relativly new to the game. I guess basicly what I am asking is how do I fix this?

Hmm.
I don't know *why* I said that in a reply, I must've been looking or thinking of something else and replied to the wrong thread. As for your OP, I believe the winged icons are part of SOE's map -- thus only they can add them, EQ2MAP doesn't put the winged icons I believe. Thus you can't fix that bit. The 2 zones that should not have them should be Nektulos and Thundering Steppes -- Antonica and the Commonlands do and should have the wing icons. EDIT: Indeed, I was looking at a different post and replied to the wrong one. My appologies for the confusion. |
Hmm... well I think I am having the same sort of problem, except I see the winged icon... but 1 is way out over the ocean.... basicly they are not where they are supposed to be on the map.
I also have the same problem in antonica, many of the icons are not where they are supposed to be... griffon, watch towers, ect. Anyone have any idea why this would be messed up? It is also messed up on my girlfriends computer, we both have profitui, and eq2map updater. Thanks |

If you click on the icon for what you're looking for, though, the "X" on the map will appear in the correct place, and the wisp trail will lead you accurately to where you want to go. -- Darryl (Milquetowst) |
On a related note, the quest npc icons (the full and empty orange circles) will usually right themselves if you resize the map (when you're near a quest npc and can actually see the icon)
