Nope just drop the "sound" folder in the UI main directory, check out the readme. ;)

Now, if you want custom sounds for JUST the UI you use, then yes put it in the custom UI folder. If its in the main UI directory all your UI's will have the new sounds.

Just place the sounds folder in your custom ui folder, and it should work all by itself:)

edit: I didnt know you could put it in main ui folder, thats nice:)

Won't the files be patched back to the default ones if they're dumped into the main directory?

Landiin 08-13-2006 08:16 AM

Na, they aren't normal files so they will not be updated.

hi there,
does anyone know if it's possible to add alert-sounds to other chat-events like guild-chat or something else?

I think it's a great concept. While I haven't installed it, it did inspire me to do a bit of tormenting. :D

I replaced a friend's crafting music with the Loituma Polka

Not exactly the reaction I was searching for though, he decided that he loves it and is keeping it.

I tried replacing some of the most annoying songs ingame by some of my favorite mp3's a while back but the Launchpad detected a miscalc of the filesizes in the music files and re-downloaded and overwrote them with the standard ones, i really tried to fool it but it kept overwriting my "modded" songs with the old eq2 songs.

What I did was that I renamed the old mp3 file to whatever the ingame music file was called, but it wouldn't work, it would re-download the original.

pooka 08-18-2006 07:28 PM

The patcher won't overwrite it if you put it in a custom_music folder right off the main EverQuest II folder.

Lexi357 08-28-2006 08:26 AM

I've been using my own custom default sounds and music sounds for awhile now, it's kinda neat when Im in antonica or commonlands to hear the theme from top-gun or if Im in my room, a nice soft lullibye. I haven't found the perfect crafting music yet as it all seems to make me sleepy (too mundane crafting)

What I would REALLY like is a way to change a couple the other default sounds (like the mail one for instance, and to distinguish when a friend/guild member logs in/out)

I keep checking the forums but it seems the "old" UI builder doc is still the same even though new sound additions have been added since it was made, and I can't find ANYWHERE to adjust those (default) sound effects.
Maybe someone with more expirence could point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Lexi
