POI's needing removed.

Since the Bad POI feature doesnt work on the main site i am posting here to get a few bad POI's removed from the feerrott maps

Feerrott (East)
27056 This page is actually a ! and not a static spawn.
27346 This page is actually a ! and not a static spawn.
27057 There is no such book. From the collecions list on the eqii forums there are no pages for any book in this location anyway.

Feerrott (West)
27490 This page is actually a ! and not a static spawn.
25683,25684,25685 are duplicate POI's. see 25682

Liandra 05-05-2006 12:48 PM

And some more on the Zek maps:

Zek Mines Level 3

24265 & 24161 are both duplicates of 24160

Zek

734 The NPC has moved. there is already another POI for his new location so this can be removed.
25963 is a duplicate of 25893
20049 is a duplicate of 744
24652 is a duplicate of 25091
21687 is a duplicate of 16761

Magus 05-05-2006 01:08 PM

27162 is also still around.

The flagging as bad function REALLY needs fixed.

yeah. i have been asking about this for months (since november at least) but havnt got any responces. /shrug

just about every single one of the main zones has duplicate POI's or in some cases POI's are there twice, ones of their own accord and once as part of a cluster.

Liandra 05-22-2006 02:49 AM

And a few in Sol Eye

Sol Eye 1
27343 Duplicate of 26961
28059 Duplicate of 27342

Sol Eye 2
Cluster 23234 needs to be redone. it includes a POI that has already been removed.

Sol Eye 3
Cluster 19347 needs to be redone. it includes a POI that has already been removed.

Sol Eye 6
27324 Duplicate of 24037

Drakah 05-22-2006 08:20 AM

25256 needs to be removed since the NPC's in that cluster no longer exist or have been moved elsewhere.

Liandra 05-24-2006 02:46 AM

And a few in the Commonlands

Commonlands East
28054 duplicate of 22223

Commonlands West
28052 duplicate of 22222

Is anyone going to remove these and/or fix the Report a POI feature? I might as well stop reporting these if no one can do anything with them. :(

Dolby 05-24-2006 03:05 AM

What makes you think no ones doing anything? I've processed your first and 2nd post in this thread today. Many that are being reported as dupes are just POI's that the system is not hideing correctly because they are part of a cluster. So I check for that and thats why some of the POI's havent been deleted but hidden.

The report function still isn't working? :)

If you need another volunteer to help with the coding, I'd be more then willing to help in order to make it work again.

Dolby 05-24-2006 12:05 PM

The report function works fine, it just doesnt work if your trying to report poi that is part of a cluster.

Vanyari 05-24-2006 12:06 PM

A while back I put in a few POI's and mislabelled a couple of them (used a loc dot instead of a quest update dot, etc.). I tried using the edit POI function to remove or change the bad ones and it wouldn't work. When I asked about it on the forums I was told it had been disabled intentionally for security reasons. Not sure if this is what your referring to but if/so it's not a matter of coding, it's just disabled for whatever reason.

The thread I'm referring to is here: http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=5414

My posts and the responses are towards the bottom of the page.

Then why is the following POI still included, after several bad comments?

http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php?id=27162

It says it changed the status, but it does not.

And it's not part of a cluster either, so that's not the issue :)

Dolby 05-24-2006 11:30 PM

Need to select something from the dropdown (ie. dupe, outdated, etc). All those comments have "commantary" as status.

See? I told you it wasn't working.

I always select the proper thing, not commentary:

It then shows that I'm making a correction, which seems logical:

Shows a review screen:

And then even shows that it resulted in a pending status:

And yet the POI never changes from Included.

There IS something wrong with the report function.

Dolby 05-24-2006 11:57 PM

Some how its still working for some... i get about 5 - 10 reports in the queue a day to fix. Must be the first 2 options that arnt working, try reporting it to change the /loc (but dont change the loc) see what happens.

Never said there WASNT anything wrong with it, just said the only thing I knew that was wrong is that you couldnt report POI's that are part of a cluster.

Which doesn't prove a thing - I've seen bugs in PHP scripts show up for one person, but not another :)

There could be something minor in the code that is making it fail for some POIs, some zones, or just some visitors.

I am still willing to help if you want, but that's entirely up to you :)

I wasnt trying to prove anything, was just saying I didnt think there was anything more wrong becuase I was still getting a good amount of reports. ;)

You think I'm trying to prove you wrong or something, you make a general statment that its not working with out any more info and I assume its the same issue I was aware of. Now that you provided more information we see that there is an issue I wasnt aware of and it should be simple to fix.

The other issue with the clusters is being worked on but requires a change of how the entire cluster system works. I'm working on storeing the clusters in another table and then storeing that cluster id in the main poi that way the status of that poi can be changed.

It's not that YOU were trying to prove me wrong, I was just saying that working for some doesn't mean it's working for all :)

Glad to hear you found the issue though ;)

Dolby 05-25-2006 12:24 AM

The issue Magus brought to light should be fixed when a *new comment is made. Thanks Magus.

If you are reporting a bad poi and the status of the poi shows its part of a cluster this is still broken but I am working on a fix soon. It requires an entire re-write of the cluster function.

Also an issue where it would say "Auto Entry: This comment resulted in a Pending status for this POI." when a user was just commenting on a poi has been fixed.

Liandra 05-25-2006 02:45 AM

Woot. it is working for me again now. just tried it on a duplicate POI and it set the status to Pending Correction.

Thanks for fixing this Dolby
