how!!??

How do i change a ui piece so that it works for other downloaded ui's? i downloaded a ui and everything on it works, but i wanted a few pieces like player and target windows from another specific ui i took the files for the pieces that i need out of it and ut them into my downloaded ui and they just mess everything up. how do i change it so it works for the ui? do i need to edit the file?

Some UIs, such as Fetish, have extra dependencies they need to draw from, so if you just pull one or two windows it won't work correctly.

We'll need to know which UI you're using as the base, and which one you're taking windows from, in order to tell you what you need to do to get them all working.

i am using Nyarlathotep's Streamlined UI for my base. and MyUI for pieces.
Thanks you for the reply. :D

Some more info: i tried flipping it around, making MYUI the base and taking pieces from the steamlined one, but MYUI is so badly bugged that it just messes everything up. most of the windows are just black boxes. I want MYUI to be updated so bad. Anyway, the pieces that i want from MYUI are the player window, the target and implies windows, the group window, and the exp bar. i got some other pieces from it like the start bar with information. that worked but other things dont seem to work when i put them on the base UI.
once again thanks for the reply. it would be most helpfull if i could get an idea of how to edit the file so it works for steamlined UI.

I'll be taking a look to see what will need to be done. Might be a day or two before I have an answer though.

Okay, looks like it should just be two easy steps.

1- add the line

<include>eq2ui_myUIStyles.xml</include>

To eq2ui.xml. (Before the </Page> line, naturally. :p)

2- copy eq2ui_myUIStyles.xml from the MyUI folder.

That should do it. Let me know whether or not it works, or if it partially works but there's still something else that's not right.
