resizable map?!..... please
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to make my map window resizable. It's really comburesome... takes up 1/3 of my screen.... can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance |
You will have to change the size of the maps before you can do anything.
|
I'm not sure if this is the question that was asked so I will rephrase it.
I would like a map window that is resizable, not the maps but the window. I know that its being done for bags, inv, etc without changing the contents. Is this possible? |
The maps the window uses are of a fixed size, I dont think they can be told to strech with the window. Its not like EQ1 where they use vector maps.

Change all of the mainhud_map sub pages to packlocation=absolute, absolute and the maps will resize. They use image styles instead of just straight images and anything thats an imagestyle can be resized. they may not be pretty but they will work. BTW, the little test I did on this lets you pull the map all the way to full screen but leaves the fog for the zone at the normal size( its either hardcoded or i missed that page) Also doing packlocation absolute on the icons did not seem to keep them in the apropriate spots so there is more to do if you want it to look correct.

could you upload a quick copy of that I could play with? :p I can't get it to work lol

Here is a very rough version of what you are looking for

Thanks! Figured out how to get the icons to reposition with the map posting soon.
The fog though.. possibly causing trouble. |
cool! repositioning of icons is much more important than the fog:) may i ask what you did to get the icons to move?
keep up the progress:) Tony ________ new developments in Prathumnak |
This was the 1st time for me the included document actually helped me. At the end it talks about page locations
MapPage ► Icons ► (more pages for the diff town zones) - icon images Had to add the code below to every single individual icon within the icons sugpage heh. Still doing it actually, theres so many lol but looks like its gonna work out good :) Code:
Pack Location "npn,npn" |

OK well everything seems to resize fine and dandy @%$)(*%&*@)(
But the fog and red dot player location can NOT be adjusted with the rest (that I can tell). Nothing I tweaked or found to tweak would change that. Red dot always stayed in perspective to the fog, and fog size stays the same. Attached image to show. I was so excited to have a resizable map too.. |
Euda, it looks to me like you are resizing the maps along with the window versus the request I made which was to resize just the window. I love your mods but I would like to know if anyone can make a map that you can just resize the outer window to make it smaller and show less of the map rather than the whole map.
I dont care whats going on in the top of the commonlands if I am in the bottom. Does that explain it better? |
(delete me pls lol)
|
Euda, I tried your Map file and it doesn't do anything. Is there something I have to do besides put it in my UI folder? Thanks.

Sorry bout that.. this should be the working one. I made sure I pulled it from the proper directory, which I think was the problem before.

Euda for that massive text adding and other powerful options i suggest a program called EditPlus which is the god of text editing programs.
I use it to sift through all my eq2 files for codes or phrases to see what is changabe. It searches the entire directory inside every file in like 30sec http://www.editplus.com/ lemme know if you are unabe to purchase it ;) ________ Live Sex Webshows |
Euda, GREAT! Thanks.
Now, second request. Can the map center on the red dot? |
From what I can tell, the red dot and the fog are hard coded.. no matter what size or shape the window those elements will be always in the same spot it seems. Pain in the ass lol
