Maps downloaded again and again
 

Hi!

When I start the EQ2mapupdater everything works fine and it's downloading all the maps, but after starting it again, it keeps updating several files (135 files in the "Updating Zones/Files" Tab) again and again, allways the same. Most of the files are images.

Someone please can help? This problem appeared after one of the last patches. Maybe someone can tell me how much files have to be in eq2map folder and image folder after complete update?

If I remember correctly the total file count is around 398ish I could be wrong, just pulling from a poor memory bank here. lol

The updater pulls a .xml file from the server with the names and other info of the files from the eq2map server. It then checks each files md5 on your computer vs that file on the server. If there is any def then it updates the file. If you or your computer changes the file in any way it'll get updated the next time you run the updater and of cource if the file on the server changes it will get updated.

Now I don't know why your computer would be changing them, unless you had comprestion on but then I wouldn't think that would cause it( maybe it would ) but if that was the case you would think it would do every file also.

Another thing could be that it download of that file timed out and it skipped to the next one. I havn't seen the code of the populer updater so I don't know how it handles time outs but thats how mine works.

Hi!

Thx for help. The problem was Net Framework. I found out that it didn't properly installed, cause of a damaged installation file. Now after installing again, everything is working fine.
