What happened to the option to turn off POIs?
This was a really useful feature and suddenly disappeared. Maps are often so overcrowded with POIs that it's not possible to simply navigate with it and this feature made it a lot easier. I hope this will come back.
Other things I've noticed: On the default world map is the Isle of Ro (south of the freeport-continent, but not on the EQ2MAP world map. Will the map be updated? Another thing with the world map is the zone connection overlay, which is outdated since a while ago all continents where made accesible via bells at Nektu und TS-docks. There is no way to turn off this overlay permanently? I also noticed that on the POF-map several names of sights are bugged with the map tool which look fine with the default map. Eg. "Camp of the Chargin" appears with maptool as "Charseinpos;Gin Encampment". Similar is T'narev. And one last thing :o Currently waypoints are blinking wildly on the map, any way to make them stop doing so, it's getting on my nerves :p That's all Anyway, just wanted to say the map tool is great and i could'nt imagie eq2 without it |
Noticed it too...but forgot to ask about it.

As for as the poi's being off, thats up to the users and you suply this info. The blinking X will be tamed in the next release lol |
I like the blinking X, mainly because it shows over places that are still greyed out. That includes group member icons as well. I think that's great. Opening up the waypoint window and click a group member name just doesn't cut it if you haven't been to the zone before. The trail always leads you on a wild goose chase ;)

It doesn't have to blink to be visible :)
