Here and Gone: Waypoint Dots?

Greetings,

For about a week prior to LU17, I encountered what was either a really handy bug, or a feature that was taken away - but I don’t know why anyone would want to! Whenever I entered a waypoint with the /waypoint command I would get the normal glowing trail, but I would also get a round red icon on my map at the destination. The circle looked like the thingy for a group member only without the number, and it had a small white dot in the center. I was delighted with the new discovery, and promptly told my friends: however, not all of them were able to get it to work. It seems maybe half of them had success in getting the dots to appear.

Was this a bug? A feature? Something that SOE did and has nothing to do with the great EQ2Maps Mod? And most importantly ... is there any way to make it come back?

Sorry if this was already covered elsewhere.

Edit: I spell gud.

This is actually a feature of DEFAULT EQ2 suprisingly. I think its kind of a funny irony, but so many people use EQ2MAP that they seem to have just assumed it was EQ2MAP that did it :p It is in fact part of the default UI from LU16 or 17 IIRC. It still works fine in default, so if its broken then unfortunately it must be an EQ2MAP issue that broke it.

These two files should give you the dots back:

You may not need the icon file, but replace your current _map.xml with this one :)

Also, save a copy just in case the updater tries to update it to a non-working version again :)

Greetings,

Thank you for the fast reply! The files worked like a charm. I guess X really does mark the spot now. =)
