Bad UIDs
I have submitted bad POI comments and seen where others have commented about them being outdated or wrong, marking the UIDs as pending. These UIDs are still showing up on our maps even though they are incorrect. How often do the admin check on these pending UIDs to delete the bad ones?
This program is an awesome tool for EQ2 players, but if bad UIDs are not deleted our maps will become useless again because of all the clutter. Please review these pending UIDs and get them off our maps. Thank you for all your hard work on this program. I know you put in a lot of time just to make our gaming time even more enjoyable, and we DO appreciate your efforts! |
There are currently no pending UID's ... can you link to one that says otherwise please?

http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php?id=24328
and http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php?id=24329 for starters. I flagged them as being duplicate POI's on saturday |
ahh, looks like those are part of clusters and thus its not showing as reported in the moderation area. We will have to fix that.
manually fixed them, if there are any more please link them here until we get that fixed. It just seems that POI's that are part of clusters are effected. |
Uid 1130
Here is one of the UIDs I was talking about, it is a single named UID. Posting the comments that were on the page showing where we have reported it as a bad POI.
Galn posted This one, and 1355 are in the wrong location, Gaer and his placeholder spawn at -331.5, -39.5, 350.8. watched the placeholder spawn here 2 times and gaer himself once. Gaer only spawns by killing Sgt. Reag a few times.Hope this helps |

If its a change of location then you choose bad loc from the comment drop down, enter your comment, hit submit and enter the correct location in the /loc field and hit submit, review it to make sure what you entered is good, then it sends it to a moderator. What option did you choose from the dropdown to report that UID? Some reason that option didn’t send it to the moderation queue. |
Greetings,
I was there was already a thread going for UIDs that didn’t get fixed, so rather than start a whole new one, I figured I’d tack these on here (most of them deal with clusters, probably due to the problem you mentioned above): http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25395 One of the contained POIs (UID: 25084) is wrong - there’s no such thing as a MOB version of the Dunestrider Camels, at least not around that location in SS. The ones there are all NPCs used in the “A Final Note” quest. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25387 Both of the contained POIs provide the same information, so one could be deleted and nothing is lost. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. *Personal Opinion* Unnecessary Clusters like this one make it harder to use the dot-colored based system for POIs. I’d hate to see such a handy feature get its worth diluted from overclusterfiaction (if it wasn’t before, it’s now a word!) =( http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25405 This cluster contains both UID: 25099 and UID: 24465, which have duplicate information. One could easily be deleted with nothing lost. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25059 While not part of a cluster itself, it is a duplicate of a POI that is in a cluster, so it really isn’t needed on the map in addition. The original comment was submitted over a month ago and normally these get taken care of much faster, so I’m not sure if something else is wrong? http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php?id=25851 The information in this POI is a much better version of what is contained in the cluster UID#25404 under “Skeleton”. Could this description be moved into the cluster, and the double POI be deleted? This is related to the same Cluster as the above duplicate POI. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25398 Contains UID: 24665 and UID: 24436 which have duplicate information about the same location. #24665 could be deleted with nothing lost. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25279 Contains UID: 24900 and UID: 24908 which have duplicate information about the same location. UID: 24900 is more concise. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25280 Same problem as the above cluster, this one contains UID: 24901 and UID: 24909. UID: 24901 is more concise. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25285 Contains UID: 25121 and UID: 25122 which are word-for-word identical. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25286 Contains both UID: 25123 and UID: 25124 which have duplicate information about the same location. UID: 25123 is slightly more detailed. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=24482 This one was submitted by someone else who noticed the same thing: it’s a duplicate of information contained in a nearby cluster. Same problem as some of the ones above. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25258 Contains both UID: 25069 and UID: 24503 which have duplicate information about the same quest item. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25261 Contains both UID: 24502 and UID: 25067 which have duplicate information about the same quest item. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25252 Contains UID: 24512 which has double information of UID: 24448 (that one is in the cluster right next to it). Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25255 Contains UID: 24186 which has double information of UID: 25083 (that one is in the cluster right next to it). http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25247 Contains UID: 24370 and UID: 25033 which have duplicate information about the same quest location. Since there’s only one real POI here, this doesn’t need to be a cluster. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25256 Contains UID: 24202 which is an incorrect location. There is already a new POI in the correct spot. http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=25177 Contains UID: 1424 and UID: 17529 which have duplicate information. UID#1424 is right next to it on the map, as well. The whole cluster can be deleted, as the solo POI has the same information and is on the map already. There are dozens if not hundreds more on scores of maps. EQ2Map has done so much for me as a navigationally impaired player that I would be more than happy to pick though the maps and find them for ya’ll, if you would like me to. It’s the least I could do to help. Kallah Dreamsong Lucan D’Lere Server |
Thanks for your report Kallah, it has helped me figure out what is going wrong. It will take me a bit to get this correct as I want to fix the site code.
The way clustering works may change soon as we have a new version of eq2map in the works that lets you filter POI types. |
Any update on this issue?
http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=26836 for example has been flagged as incorrect 3 times and each time there is a note saying: Quote:
|
I deleted POI 26836 for you. The cluster-creating code is not working currently, so things are not working perfectly, but we'll muddle through it. :)
|
It looks like the Bad UI reporting feature is completely dead.
found another today: http://maps.eq2interface.com/poi.php...=view&id=27151 its not part of a cluster, but didn't get set to Pending when i reported it. |
