Doesn't work at all for me ... :(

Perhaps I have not installed it properly, but I don't see any maps (or get errors).

Under UI/ I have a subdir called "eq2maps". Under there, it looks like this:

UI/eq2map/eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml
UI/eq2map/images/icons/
UI/eq2map/images/maps/*.DDS
UI/eq2map/eq2map/*.xml

Am I missing the obvious? If I type "/loadui" in the game, eq2map doesn't show up as an interface in the list of possible interfaces (yes, I know I'm not supposed to use /loadui, but it isn't even seeing it apparently - was just testing).

I'm at a loss - seems like a great tool - but I'm getting no love. I must be missing the obvious lol.

Are you installing the manual version? If so you need to follow the directions in the FAQ on installing a custom interface. You need to edit your eq2.ini and add some code.

/loadui currently is still broken. The reason you dont see it in the list is because eq2map doesnt include a eq2ui_skininfo.xml. However you dont want to load the mod from /loadui anyway.

Yes, I did that - sorry, I should have mentioned it. I created the eq2.ini file.

cl_ui_subdir UI/
cl_ui_skinname eq2map

are you sure its not eq2.ini.txt as explained in the FAQ? By default windows hides the extention of known files so if you save an ini file using a default windows install the name of the file will be eq2.ini.txt and you will see it as eq2.ini.

Yes, its eq2.ini ...

I have configured explorer not to hide extensions (that feature has always bothered me - being an old UNIX guy ... ) :)

Well only 2 things can cause it not to load.

1. not putting it in the active eq2 UI folder. If your using a different language of eq2 this might get tricky and is explained in the faq.

2. the eq2.ini is not in the correct spot or is named wrong. eq2.ini needs to be in the root of your active everquest folder. the same place your eq2.exe is located.

Other then that there is no reason it should not work.
