MP3 Player??
Is there an MP3 Player in the game yet?
I really need one =) |
No, and it can not be added.
CombatStats has some thing that can play mp3s, but it won't actually show in game at all. |
Why do people still ask for this? EQ2 is a windows enviroment friendly game. Simply run your favorite mp3 player in the background and play EQ2 at the same time. Even Windows Media player will still allow you full control of the player while in EQ2. All you need to do is use your keyboard preset keys or keys that you "macroed"/bound to the player to change tracks, pause, play, ff, rw, etc etc.
|
what is better?
Why do people try and stop progress! Who cares if you can run an mp3 player outside of EQ2, it destroys the illusion! Can I get an in-game player or what? Im working on the build right now via reviewing other posts. Why stop progress when it will better the gaming experience!
Water does not flow uphill. |

Sony would have to do it, and they have shown no signs of wanting to. Use a global hotkey program and you don't have to do any alt-tab stuff, but an mp3 player can't possibly fit into any game illusion, so that's a silly argument. |
yea global hot key prog is the way to go
I use iTunes and a Konfobulator widget called iTunes Companion so i got full control over my music in game via custom keyboard commands.
|
Instead of the konfabulator/itunes companion duo (which I've tried, and I don't like the nag window that pops up every few hours begging me to register/pay).
So I found iTunes Keys, which does the job without too much overhead. |
just do what I do...
get some songs you'd RATHER hear... open up the various Music folders in your EQ2 directory... change the names of your songs to those of the songs of the MP3s in the EQ2 folder... Copy a backup of all the default music (because the updater will check every time you log in, so you'll have to swap them out). Run the updater... Replace the default songs with your songs. Run the game... Now when it would be playing "Ultra-stupid-dramatic-destroyingworlds-combat-music" when you attack a rat... You'll get whatever YOU put as that certain combat theme... Easy peasy. |
eXtremes AUCP has a built in audio player controllable from with in the game :) MP3, WAV, ASF if you have a codec for it, it'll play it.

The AUCP has a settings tab, where you can enter the keystrokes for whatever you would like for stop, play, forward, etc built in, and it uses the parser that Landin has been working on as part of the eXtremeUI. The other option of course, get a multimedia keyboard, which have their own controls for said functions on them anyhow, which adds the benefit of allowing you to use your "normal" one as mentioned above without recreating playlists and such, but hey, I'm lazy, so I try to take the easy way out when I can. There really is no need to re-invent the wheel, is there?

Mp3 Player
Here's what you are all looking for. An in-game Mp3 player that is skinned to match the game. Also at the link are downloads for a combat parser, item database, and of course SageUI.
SageUI Add-ons Sage  |
Any chance you (or anyone fluent in German) could translate the readme file? :)
Edit: Also, the mp3 player installer gives me an error hehe. Says it can't find EQ2. Do I need to have the game installed in the default location? E.g. Program Files/Sony yada yada/etc blabla. |
