Is it possible to change the chat window so it has tabs? Like in SWG so it’s all in one box and you won't have to have multi boxes open

What is a reason for this? I mean why is this impossible?
ATM Chat system is total mess. You hafto have too meny chat windows
open if you wish to follow Group/channel/combat/other chats. Hope in somepoint this will chance.

Kinda sucks that they didn’t implement this in the first place, since SOE are gods of mmorpgs thought they would have got an interface right by now :P

Its not possible becuase you cant really change the function of the interface only how it looks. Its something that needs to be coded into the EQ2 client by sony to allow the function. Now there might be some weird way to make it look like you have tabbed chat windows but its not going to function like SWG or CoH or WoW.

Personaly I hate tabbed windows (run at 1600x1200 and i can fit tuns of windows) but I understand some like it so I'd never stand in the way of that. Just saying atm its not possible.

Yeah well it was worth of try to ask it. Maybe SOE will figure it out too in some point. And my problem aint the space they take. I just hate messy looking UI=)

I use 3 chat windows at the moment and mine doesnt look messy. I'm a neat freak my self.

yes I to hate to many or messy windows . I have killed the borders to full transparent and have dimmed the background to almost niill and that has helped with realestate alot .

I'm not entirely sure this is not possible. The game does have tab functions. I'm out of town right now. I'l take a look at it in a few days.

Well, I'm actually trying to do this myself. I'm trying to use the merchant window (since it has tabs) as reference. Although while doing this I'm trying to learn so I'm building an entire UI from the ground up to teach me a lot more about the UIbuilder. But, of course at the same time I'm obsessivly playing EQ2 :D . Just thought I'd post to let you know that someone is working on it :) . Even if progress is extremely slow.

I think this might be possible.. The problem would be determining what's filtered where.
