I'm boggled
hello kind of new to this and i thought i had covered all of the angles ... downloaded and installed Net framework 2.0 ... i'm useing an xp version and am betError Getting File List: System

sounds like you dont have a firewall set up to allow the updater access to the internet. that is a mesasge you will get when it cant connect to the server or is having problems with the connection.
