Saving keyboard setup locally

Does anyone have a suggestion for saving your keyboard setup on your own computer instead of on the server? I've had no luck with /save_keymaps or /savehotkeys.

I thought the keyboard keymap is stored locally in the servername_toonname_eq2_uisettings.ini file. The spells / abilities in the hotbars are stored server side though and I don’t believe there is a way to export/ import from a local file.

Actually you've got it backwards a little, Dolby :)

Both the hotbar setups and keyboard settings are saved server-side.

Hotbar layouts, however, can be saved and loaded to/from files using /savehotkeys and /loadhotkeys.

Keyboard setup CAN NOT be saved locally.

Wow, you learn something new every day.

colour settings are also saved server side

Server Side

I could have sworn the keybindings were saved locally.

Reason being, I have everquest loaded on 3 PC's and keybindings had to be setup on all three after logging it.

For example I have autorun mapped to "n" on my primary PC yet when I setup EQ2 on my second and then third PC's I had to remap the "n" key to autorun on those devices.

Edit: Forgot to clarify, same account on all three. :)

They may have changed it later, but I know as of 1 week ago, I changed a key setting on a friend's account (on my PC, was running him through harvesting portion of DWB) and it was still changed when he logged in on his PC.

Your right Magus,
I logged in and changed some mappings and logged out and performed a file comparison and didn't find anything that changed that was relevant to keybindings.

I did find this though...
eq2_keymap_United States.ini
Of course Sony "fixed" my changes upon logging in.

Easy way to find out would be to copy your ui.ini file to another name and then change a keybinding, and see if there are differences in the two files. It's unfortunate though that the ui.ini files are all in binary format. Kinda peeves me that they do that.

I agree
I compaired with hexworkshop and can verify no keybindings are saved there.

Thanks for the responses, i'm disappointed to hear that.
