EQ2 Map updater crashes
 

I'm trying to use the map updater for the first time (to install it) and it constantly crashes with a generic message "EQ2MAP_Updater.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have .net 2 installed so that isn't the problem. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

There are issues with .NET framework 2 (it was built with .NET framework 1.1) that I think they have worked around in that thread.

Yes, I've done that with no success. Same error keeps happening.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it with no success.

BUMP: I still can't get it and I've tried everything. Can I please get some help? I really want to get this awesome program working!

What operating system are you using?

Windows XP Professional Edition 2002 version with SP2 installed.

I'm having the same problem, was getting the exception error, installed .net 2, still was getting it, installed the config file in the sticky, not I just get the generic error. Using XP.

So still no ideas on this one? Any way to get the map files and put them in by hand since the updater simply won't run at all?

hi i experienced the same problem and fixed it using the link for networking below the download here is the link, install this then reinstall map update 1.06

Same issue here. Have been usingthis map for several months. Starting yesterday, I started getting the same message youhave.

Followed all the troubleshooting, have :( correct mircrosoft files, etc.
