two issues that maybe you can help with
okay, first..the house access window. I can't get into my house due to upkeep. I own just the basic inn that I got once I did the betrayal. (and yes I did relenquish my other house) I was able to enter and leave as I pleased. Then came the upkeep and now I cant even pay the stupid thing. I noted on my window that it says a) UPKEEP: [DEVL] what is that? and b) that my upkeep is 2gp and 200 status?!? Is my guild house somehow interfering with my house? (see pic)
Next, the skills window..everything is black so I cant see what my skills are...anyone else having this problem? any known mods out there that can fix this or are made? edit: forgot to mention that the ui I am running is tyejae steel (the basic one not the bottom one) Thanks, Cutanea |
I have no idea about the housing issue, but the problem with the skills window is most likely caused by the EQ2ui.xml in your custom UI directory. I had the same problem after they updated to the new type skills window and I traced it to that file. I simply deleted the mod (FetishClockCompass_4_0) that installed the file and the skill window worked fine.

Looks like the dynamic data for that window is broken that [DEVAL] stuff is just text we use for spaceing purposes basicly... So what your seeing is not info sent from SoE.... Maybe thats why the pay upkeep button is not showing up, For now I would say just delete the file called 'eq2ui_playerhousing.xml' from your mod folder untill there is an update avalible :)

If you have a custom eq2ui_gamedata.xml you should delete that one too. Thats one file you should never have in your custom interface folder and "could" also cause the issue you are explaining.

How I figured out which file was the culprit? Trial and error. I looked for mods that had files that could potentially affect other things (e.g. mods with xml files other than for the window they were replacing) and deleted them one at a time till I found the one that was being naughty. The only file in the mod at fault that could potentially affect the skills window was the eq2ui.xml. |
Basically, if my noob self understands this correctly, the eq2ui.xml file is the file that tells the game what UI windows to load and display on your screen. Custom UI modders can add extra windows, or rename the default ones, and if they do, they must include them in the eq2.xml file, otherwise they just won't show up or the default will be loaded instead. I believe the revamped skills window uses extra files that the original did not, and therefore anyone with a custom mod which included an eq2ui.xml file is getting the display error becuase of the lack of inclusion of the extra files for the skills window.
There is a thread somewhere on these forums that lists what to add to your eq2ui.ini file to make the skill window display correctly, and I'm sure there are a few UI mods now that include a correctly displayed skills window as well if you feel like hunting one down. |
First of all, I would like to thank all those who have suggested things. Greatly appreciated.
The playerhousing window suggestion worked like a charm, went into my ui folder, deleted the xml and bingo default (but payable) room window. The skills one I am still stuck on, will look for other threads once I get home from work. Was curious though, would my whole ui just go bunk if I was to delete that whole eq2ui.xml file? |
