ThorUI Issue (cant write to file)

I am having great trouble with ThorUI (latest version DL'd an hour ago).

I follow the instructions exactly. Then in game I get the warning that the character .ini file cannot be written to.

I try to revert back to my original settings and find that the character.ini file that could not be written to in game also cannot be renamed, moved or deleted. Therefore I cannot reinstate my original file.

Therefore I cannot play that character without regular warnings that the file cannot be written to. This applies even after rebooting.

How do i get around this?

How do I get my original file back when I cannot rename or delete the new file?

EDIT:
I have taken a look at the files and they are dated 26/06/2005 = 2 days ago. Could this unaccessable/unrenamable/undeleteable file be a fault with the latest version?

I fear I may have to reinstall

Reinstalled EQ2 overnight (taking into account the 3 hour download to bring me up to date) and now all is well.

Methinks I will stick with the standard UI from here on.

Once bitten and all that.....

It was my understanding this was resolved through our ealier conversation via private message.

There is nothing to my knowledge that would lock your files with my ui.
This is the only reported instance of this issue.
I'm thinking possible system glitch but I certainly understand your apprehension with reloading.

I posted the entry here the same time as the other location (was unsure which to use).

I wonder if it is something to do with XP security files although if so it has not affected anything else.

bit of a mystery that.

Perhaps i will try again when I have time to do the download after if it all goes wrong again.

All the best
Chris
