Lockup
Since last week, EQ2map updater just locks up with an hourglass cursor when I start it. It must be in a very tight loop that doesn't allow any event processing because none of the usual buttons (minimize, close, etc) respond on the client at all. I am force to use task manager to close it, which it does immmediately when it receives the signal from task manager, i.e. no message that the application is not responding.
The only changes that I have made is to delete all the ".ini" files in the EQ2 main directory (except for eq2.ini) and repatch the game on the advice of a CSR when I was experiencing desktop crashes while zoning.) Nothing else had changed. Now, Version 1.0 behaves as described in the first paragraph. Thanks, Bob Caryl |
Disregard this post... I have been a victim of my own lack of patience. An error dialog has appeared, so there is NO lockup.
/em Bob kicks himself in the arse. :o Sorry! |
Error Message Dialog appears with the following after appearing to have locked up:
Error Getting File List: System

Problem found and mercilessly stomped out
DOH! Somehow, my virus checker decided to quarantine EQ2Map and not let it talk to the internet.
I abjectly apologize for wasting the forum's time with my cries of wolf. I further apologize for this long winded apology. :o |
