Quest window needs to be updated problem
 

I just installed Simple UI. Everything looks to be working fine, except the quest journal. When I try to open the quest journal I get a box that says:

You are using a UI Mod that is not compatible wuth recent changes to the Quest window.

Please upgrade your UI mod to a compatible version or revert to the default UI.

{OK}
----------------------

In an attempt to rememdy this I closed out EQ2 and added in the Milquetowst Quest Journal, which states it was just updated a few days ago. Restarted EQ2, but still get the same message when trying to open the quest journal.

I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but has anyone else run into this and know what the cause is?

Is this line in your eq2ui.xml file?

<include>eq2ui_journals.xml</include>

Note: You can open xml with notepad and just add the line if it's missing.

i am having the same problem and the <include>eq2ui_journals.xml</include> line is in the .xml file

The line was there, but I noticed that the xml files eq2ui_journal and eq2ui_journal_active were both missing from the \UI\Simple directory. Only the _jounral_quest one was there. I'll camp out and reload to see if that worked.


As a side question, I have a black window with no content in it, resizable to any dimension...I don't know what it is for. I went into the control options and looked at the key commands for every window and none of them close/open it. A nuisance more than anything else. Any ideas?

i checked the files aswell and all three are there.

You either need an updated file, or you need to delete the journals_quest file.

If you delete the file, won't you be missing every setting the GUI need to function proporly?

any file not in the custom folder the game automaticly uses the default one. so deleteing your quest window in the custom interface folder will make EQ2 use the default one.

That did it!
deleted the file and now the Quest window works, though not with the Custom GUI but with the standard window.
