EQ startbutton
 

Hi, ok iam confused i cant seem to have my startbutton show even if i go to default ui looked in folder the file is there in both my default ui and custom 1, even tryed downloading some still can not find it in game. any help please:)

I'm at work so i cant give and exact answer but i believe if you browse around under interface in your options, near where lock all windows is a reset default option.

try this command. (case sensative)


/show_window MainHUD.StartButton

Sometimes windows decide to just not show up, and that will often get them the to pop back on the screen for whatever reason.

try alt ~ (alt plus tilde)

well tryed them all still no startbutton:), maybe reinstall eq2, maybe get it to show

You sure its not hiding off screen or under another window ?

ya Laffs thought about that to so reset all windows ,and a few other options still wouldnt show,iam getting very confused hehe

Have that problem with one character
 

I am having the same problem with one of my characters. Tried all of the above and still no startbutton. Loaded default interface with that character and no start button there either. Help someone please. Pressed F-10. Moved all windows around, told it not to allow off screen windows.

Discovered
 

I discovered my start button last night when i tried running the interface at it's intended higher resolution. I usually run at 1024/768 so my old eyes can see better.

1) Load the deafult UI
2) use Alt + O to bring up GameOptions.
3) Find the Restore Default Window Locations button, think its under User Interface, and press it.
4) Press the ACCEPT button at the bottom of the GameOptions window.

If you still don't see it, try Alt + ~

If that doesn't do it, you prbly need to replace your character_server_setting.ini

There is a known issue with this settings file becoming curupted that can prevent window possitions and visibility from being saved. In some rare cases windows also become stuck in whatever state they were last saved in, can't be shown, unlocked or moved.

To make things worse, you can't simply trash the file (server just downloads another corupted copy) you need to manually replace it with a working version. An uncorrupt copy can be found in the downlaods section.
