Smaller hotkeys?

Could someone resize the hotkeys by maybe 6 pixels smaller? Theyre too big @ 1024, also is it possible to remove the key numbering? (The # and the Alt-# stuff at the bottom left of the key)

insomniac 11-14-2004 12:17 AM

Check out my 3/4ths hotbar in the download section.
Removing the numbers... i'll take a look at it, wouldn't that be super confusing tho?

NetSapiens 11-14-2004 01:29 AM

you know, I considered asking for removed numbers too, simply because the whole alt-7 and ctrl-5 thing is just too danmed big for the bar imho.

Maybe a slight change to the request would be better?
Make the font smaller, and remove all reference to alt and ctrl on each hotkey bar, and instead but that ONCE on each bar... like in the title or similar.

I dont use the keyboard to cast, I push the hotkeys with my mouse... sooo.. I like to look at the icons to tell what Im pushing. I have a whole bunch of new icons in the works that say things like "assist" and "inc!" and "slow" and "mez", etc etc.. for group messages and random things that every EQ player needs. To be able to see these on the 3/4 bar, the numbers and letters need to be taken out of the boxes so you can see the full icon. I requested this in another topic somewhere but I think it got overlooked.

Also, as of right now the image with the icons that you choose for macros is called icon_ms1.dds
Is there ANY way to make it so you can code it so I can add a new graphic, call it icon_ms2.dds and have extra icons to choose from? The reason I ask this is, all of the icons in icon_ms1.dds are used somewhere in the EQ button menu.. so if I change that image so that I can make a custom looking assist key or whatever, then somewhere in the menus there will be that assist button where it should have been a.. whatever I replaced. Get what I'm saying? I have a feeling this isn't possible for you to do, so I may just live with having weird buttons in the EQ button menu.

Anyway, let me know! I should have some new buttons to download soon.

insomniac 11-14-2004 03:13 AM

ok hex, good point.
this outta do it :D

edit: and i just took a shot at adding icons, the only way to do it is to overwrite current ones. you're running into the same problem i have with the pet window. no xml references icon_ms1.dds! it's just a hardcoded image file, how nice of them....

(3/4th hotbar, no labels, no bank) *fixed*

heXum 11-14-2004 08:27 AM

Man, you are too awesome.

I will have some new icons soon then for people to download if they so choose to overwrite some others.

Thanks again!

Draenor 11-14-2004 03:15 PM

That's awsome. exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Centhena 11-14-2004 03:18 PM

exactly what i needed.... thanks!

heXum 11-14-2004 07:25 PM

Hey man, this works wonderfully... almost! :)

You still have numbers 4, 6 and 9 that show up on the hotbar... and for some reason, when I died, my first hotbox was empty. Kinda sucked, dunno if that was a problem with your mod or not.

Jarayn 11-15-2004 04:42 AM

I like the removed arrows and numbers bit but id like that on a full size bar .. i find that too small on 1280x1024 lol . ill try doing myslef but if someone already knows how too... :)

Very nice.. mabey consider resizing the font of yoru 3/4 hotbar to be a 3/4 size font mabey? or making one with the bank slector but no text?

Virtuella 11-17-2004 09:37 PM

Just downloaded that hotbar UI after seeing your reply on the official boards.
Good work Insomniac. *Cheers*
I do however have a request.
I have no idea if it's possible but i ask anyway.
;)

Is it possible to program it so that we can scroll through the different hotbars with our mousewheel when having cursor over hotbar instead of doing shift 1-0

Thanks.

Even smaller hotkeys?

Insomniac... I downloaded and installed the 3/4 mod and it's a big help, thank you!

I was wondering though if there is a way to make the hotkey bars even smaller. 1/2 or even 1/4 size? I know, I know... I'm jealous of my desktop space. I rarely pay the pictutres much mind I just know where the effect I want is on the bar (3rd from the right, 2nd from the left, etc.) so the smaller and more unobtrusive I can amke it the better.

vindrow 11-21-2004 09:25 AM

I was about to request this very thing...with my max resolution on my monitor being 1280 by 1024 the hotkeys and bar are too big, and by the time you hit 50 you will have 5 or 6 of these things open.

Thanks a bunch Insom :D

Just installed it and it looks mmmmmarvelous :)

jpo 11-21-2004 01:44 PM

Anyone tell me what size properties i have to change in the ui builder to make 3/4 hotkeys? not sure im very new to this so im still working out things but i like the 3/4 hotbars saves alot of space so if anyone can direct me to a page or a bit of help to what sizes and where in UI builder i need to change to make them 3/4 hotkeys that would be awsome :)
