Nektropos Castle Level 3
2 Attachment(s)
Here's my log file and SVG file for the third floor of Nektropos Castle. I tried continuing on to make the map, but I don't have Photoshop, and I'd have to recompile Gimp to get DDS support. :P

Was not too sure about the center so I thought I would try and make it look like it was not accessible. Let me know if it is ok or you would like something different... :D

Don't the other two dds have a red tint with the other floors overlaid on them?
Just throwing this in to make your life harder :p |
The only accessible areas areas are in the hallways and rooms. The big open areas in the center are indeed inaccessible. I know the maps for the first and second floors have a red tint, tho I have no idea why. The zone is actually gray stone floors.

by the way
level 2 is a bit off. the map should be pft.. 10 pixel south |
any chance of doin the basement? haha ive been there so many time i dont need maps anymore but it woudl help the guildies :P

How is this?
|
personally i think it would look better without the reddish brown fill. Other than that its great :)
|
uh remove that red :)
why dont you fill the accessible areas with the same red level 1+2 use? At least all nek castle maps should look consistent |
That is why I have them as castle3 and castle3.1. I do not like the fill either. And to why it is not red like the other 2, I did not make the other 2 nor do I like how the other 2 are made.
I am in the process of writing a HowTo for map making for those, like myself, who cannot afford to get Photoshop and use Paint Shop Pro. |
You could download Gimp. It is free and has most of Photoshop's features. You can even get it to work on DDS files, but apparently you have to recompile the program to do so. :(

This is pretty cool too if you can't get photoshop : http://plasticbugs.com/index.php?p=241
It's called GimpShop that is a modification of Gimp (with source) that replaces all of the Gimp menus and text to duplicate the Photoshop setup. The page is for a mac version, but there is a Windows version linked further down. |
