What shall I backup before installing this mod?
 

What does the installer do?

What do I need to backup?

What do I have to do in case I want to remove this mod and change it to how everything was before the installation of the mod?

the installer install the updater but does not run it. (you have to run the program to download the mod)

the only file that you might have, but it is highly unlikely that you do, that it will overwrite is eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml.

delete the eq2map folder it creates inside your custom folder, delete the icon_map3.dds file inside the images/icons folder, and delete the maps folder that is inside the images folder.

Easiest way if you wanna go that way is just backup your customUI folder into a backup folder, so that if you wanted to remove the map, you could just delete your folder, and place the old one back in.

you will not want to deinstall it ever :)
