Hotkey commands, how?

Can you make a hotkey for a command like /assist? If so how?

The game allows you to make macro's for things like assist you can create them under the social menu.

Many thanks, Beast!

then again the macros in beta sucked, as they were just one line.

No more

/g casting CH on %t
/cast 5

Hiya,
Im a non-programmery type (so dumb it REALLY down!), but have just found the macro feature, and am really excited about using it to enhance my character's identity. I like binding an in-character text quote with one of the existing socials, and then also firing off relevant combat arts using the /useability command. I have several questions regarding ways of really making this feature sing inorder to give my character..well...character :D

Firstly, the macro editer only allows 3 lines...quickly used up! Is there a way of entering multiple commands on a single line, or working around the 3 line limit altogether?

Also, having created a macro, can I fire it off from the command line via a one word "alias", as I can a social or ability? The problem is with the number of icons I could wind up creating...there simply aint enough space to display them or even store them all!

ANOTHER question (sorry!)...is there a way of "randomising" the text string for each usage of a macro? Eg my berserker is about to engage the enemy...I run a macro which firstly does the taunt social, with some text saying something along the lines of "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!" then uses the anger ability....now instead of having the same phrase repeated every time I use the macro (which would quickly loose its charm!) can I have a range of phrases which are picked at random when I use this macro? At the moment I need several versions of the same macro...very unwieldy. Taking this a step further...can I randomise the social used as well (eg randomly choose from brandish/taunt/rude gesture etc)?

If anyone can help me with these, you will make me a very happy (and vocal) Zerker!

Answer to this is yes. Answer to the others is no.

How to do multiple commands on one line:

Start with

"/: ; " (That's slash-colon-space-semicolon-space)

Enter each command, without the /

Between each command do space-semicolon-space again.

So...

/: ; useability Shrouded Strike ; autoattack off ; say PERISH!

Thanks very much DeathBane...that will help alot. Shame about the other stuff...maybe I should suggest these changes to SOE...along with logic arguments in the macro scripting (I guess thats not possible either?).

A large portion of the idea behind the three line limit, the lack of pausing, and the lack of logical operators is to prevent unatended play (if you ever played SWG think macrotainers.) For my part, I'm with SOE on this one. Keep the macro system dumb. :)

Yes, I can see that POV...fair enough...a proper scripting language would be abused *damns the ones who always spoil a good idea*
