BFG FX6800 ULTRA 256MB OC (overclocked) Video Card with Water Block Cooling $599.99 at outpost :)

already tryed outpost, they actually have it at *gasp* msrp (which is 499.99, fan version) but it says "call for availability" and on the phone you are told "backordered 2 weeks". so they don't have it either.

I would just like to add that the 6800 is'nt as important as the proc you run on I've noticed... Thats compared to about 4 machines I've built and tested EQ2 on. Radeon graphic cards dont run much slower at all but I have noticed major quality changes depending on the proc used.

computer junk

I find that the most appealing site to go to for purchase of any computer component for dirt cheap is at http://www.pricewatch.com. There will you find the answers you seek.

Actually i think thats usually the case in most MMOs. I read somewhere that when you're running around in a heavy populated area, its the processor that really works hard processing all of the information in that particular area. There was a post somewhere in the FFXI forums about this as well. As far as graphical detail though, you'll want a 6800 or something to that extent if you want to crank up the render detail views and the resolutions. Whats your main PC specs Esperant?

Might also check Ebay. Find a reputable seller and see what kind of shipping terms they offer. I bought my 6800 Ultra from a reliable seller on ebay for 410 with 2nd day shipping. Just be sure to go with a good seller with active, positive FB.

GL to you in your search.

Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-53 Processor with HyperTransport Technology
Motherboard: ASUS A8V Deluxe - VIA K8T800 Pro Motherboard
Memory: 1GB Extreme Dual Channel DDR PC-3200 SDRAM at 400MHz - 2 x 512MB
Video Card: NVidia 6800 256MB DDR3 w/Digital and TV Out

thats my main machine, but the other one I sometimes play on is a...

2.8 P4
1gb ram (too lazy to look it up right now but I think its 2800)
Radeon 9700 ...

and the scarry news is folks... they run about the same... My new machine only slightly out performs it. Of course =/ I play on high quality and when I'm in a place with few people I can take the game to extreme... but thats besides the point. I have to crank it down to performance when I was in places like BB.

At least the game is capable of tuning-down on the fly.. no more "Holy snit im lagging out here guys. theres too many people on this raid. lemme relog RQ and turn off . . . . . " you get the idea.. meanwhile the raid goes on without you and you're S_O_L
