oK....

So I am not one to really complain much, but what is up with the unscheduled downtimes this is the second time this week the servers have gone down with no warning.

I mean really, I can understand "ONE" Server crashing for unexpected reasons, but ALL servers going down at the same exact moment, with no notice or in game warnings???

C'mon...

Wasn't my fault, honest.

Yeah, test is down too, so it definately wasn't that 257-character broker search I tried 2 minutes before it happened...

Is there a chat room that is available when servers are down? It seems there are onlly three offical chat rooms that you can get to if you hit the 'chat' button on launchpad. One is general which is full, and won't let me in. The others are the dutch and french rooms, which are not full, but will not let me send a single message because they are moderated....??

They announced this morning around 10am that they were having issues with the login servers and if you couldn't get in by using the Launch Pad, to try using the EverQuest2.exe file directly.

That's not working either, unfortunately, even when using Autoplay.

Edit: Well, of course it works NOW after I post that... on Test anyway.

No, the servers most definitely pooped themselves. I was in the D'Morte Burial Mound helping a friend through the first bits of the Bloodlines quests when we got hit by some bad lag, 3-7 seconds between command and execution. At first it was only me getting hit, then my friend began lagging too. About 80% into killing the named the lag topped 10 seconds and I IM'd my friend "the servers are about to {expletive deleted} themselves" right as I saw the lovely character selection mod pop up. Guess I was right. ;)

Damn shame, too, I was only a few minutes away from dinging 32. Ah well. Tomorrow. :)

Edit: Forgot to mention, the announcement SOE made was only in relation to logging in via the launchpad. Since I obviously wasnt using it (yay QuickLogin) it may have been related to the same problem, but it wasn't exactly the same problem.

use the IRC to chat when servers are down:P

The General chat room was moderated too (they been doing that lately when the room starts filling up). They definitely need more chat rooms. Can't understand why they don't have it at least setup by server, the same way they do for EQLive.

I guess I'm playing at the right times, cause I haven't run into downtime since my 2nd week of playing the game back in november
