Is there anyway to have your pet auto-assist you?

I was wondering if there is a way to have your pet auto-assist.

For example.
You target mob 'X'.
You begin attacking mob 'X'.
--
Instead of having to command your pet to attack, it just assists you on whatever mob you are currently attacking.

Is this possible, or am I stuck with having to order my pet to attack everytime?

Make a macro and stick it on the hot bar is the only way. I put mine for grouping:

/pet Attack
/g Assisting %t

:p

As far as I know, the only way to get your pet to attack without manually ordering it is to get hit, which doesn't work out too well for most pet users. :(

And for rangers, the pet has to get hit for it to attack :P

Ugh, Alrighty, thanks for the help. I already have a macro set up to do that, but thanks.

I'm going to /feedback with the suggestion to have the option to have pets auto-attack -- I think I remember them having that in EQ1..
