Profit UI Updater doesn't actually install ...?

Okay, so how do I actually get the Profit UI Updater to INSTALL on my computer? When I run it, it just takes me to a web link that launches the program online. All well and good until tonight, when it started giving me an error that says I have to run the program as an Administrator. Normally I'd just right click on the program, tell it to "Run As Administrator" and it would all be fine. But, what the heck do I do when the program doesn't actually install?? There is no shortcut and no record of the program on my computer ANYWHERE. It's been like this for me for quite some time. This is the first time I've had the "run as administrator" error.

What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?

You probably have an old version of Java, and need to update it before the ProfitUI Updater will work. See: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Do the fix in this post, and it should properly update for you.

Went to Java and it tells me that I already have the latest version. Went ahead and unistalled, then reinstalled and still no joy.

Tried to reset shortcuts as advised and NOTHING happens. The application says it's resetting shortcuts and then just disappears.

Tried searching for and running javaws -viewer and my computer says there is no such file.

In Win7, you go to the Start Menu and in the search box type in "javaws -viewer" then hit enter. It should open a window titled Java Cache Viewer with Profit patcher in there. I right-clicked on the Profit patcher and clicked delete, the installed through the browser again and it worked perfectly.

I have no idea how to make it work in other versions of Win, i think in XP you would click "Run" then type it in.

Tried again this afternoon and it worked! :nana: Not sure why it wouldn't work yesterday, but I'll take it!
