Choosing New Spell Icons?

I'm dissatisfied with the number of options available for the in-game macro icons, I'd like to be able to more easily differentiate between spells that are mapped to the same spell icon. I'm able to edit and use my own .dds files at this point (so I thought this would be more of an xml question than a dds question), but can someone point me in the right direction as to how I would change where a certain spell would grab its icon from? Let me know if you need any other info...thanks in advance.

There's been a couple of topics on this same thing.

1) You cannot add more. Only modify existing.
2) If you want to change certain ones, figure out which ones use what icon, then edit that icon. It's gonna change it for whatever elses uses it though, too.

That's about it as far as I know.

actually...

one or more of the spell-data files has extra space in it,
cant that be used, and then reposition the icon dimensions?

or are the spells hard-coded into those specific regions,
making the only option to overwrite existing spell icons
with whatever you wanted?

its late. im nonsensical.

Yes, they're hardcoded.

And yes, indeed.

any chance spell icon choices will be made more customizable? from what I read you can't change the icon of courage and daring seperately because they use the same icon to begin with. If you change it they both change and you can't re-direct certain spells to certain icons? Thats depressing if so. Would love to change this for a few reasons.
