Profit UI Updater will NOT install
I have been trying every single suggestion I have seen to install the Profit UI updater since my Java updated to Java 7. It simply will not install, I always get a box that says the Application will not launch.
Is anyone else having this problem? I am just about to consider switching to Drums at this point. |
Open the control panel in windows and then click on java. Under the general tab click settings for temporary files. Make sure the box for keeping temp files is checked. Hit ok and back at the general tab click the view tab for temp files.
Under the drop menu for Applications make sure you see Profit UI Reborn Updater and that its status is green. If it is not click the drop down menu and goto deleted applications and see if its there and can be restored. Thats really all the advice I can offer. |
If you are using Java 7 on a 64-bit computer make sure you install both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version. You need to have both as many Java programs will only work with the 32-bit version. They don't install into the same directory.
32-bit version installer, Version 7 Update 5 64-bit installer, Version 7 Update 5 If you have multiple old versions of Java installed it is a good idea to remove them. Good luck. PS: The DrumUI Updater uses the exact same Java technology. I believe the same guy did both of the updaters. |
Both the suggestions replied to my post have been checked and are ok. The application will STILL NOT launch.

Question: when you go to updater.pala.de and use the Launch button, do you get the prompt about opening the profitui.jnlp file with Java Web Start? If so, are you allowing JWS to open it, or are you saving it and trying to use it after it's downloaded?
