Trouble Installing

So here I am, back on EQ2... really want to get Profit and having issues.

I tried to download the installer, which I understand does everything for me... and I've got to the url page where it says ;click the launch button' blah blah, and when I do it comes up 'google chrome not found' any ideas??

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at java.com&returnpage=http.

Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Just checked the link and the page loads fine. The wording of the error actually suggests that something is broken with the Java setup on your system, since the failed URL is not the updater page but a Java page that is needed to run the application. The Java setup may have a problem, or Windows Firewall may be blocking the connection.

You might want to make sure you have the the latest version of Java. Here's a link to the Java download page.

I also verified that clicking the Launch button brings up a dialog to run or save the file 'profitui.jnlp' as expected.

To clarify, are you getting the error when you click the Launch button?

You were right. It must have been a Java error. I updated from the link you posted and it downloaded correctly. Thanks for the assistance.

Very glad to hear that. :-) Java is complicated and depends on being able to connect to Java assets in the cloud. It's a modern cloud application that way, but it can be confusing when things break.
