Odd Pet Window Request/Question
From what I've read on here, pet windows are pretty much hard coded, and even if they weren't, I don't know enough about this stuff to do it myself, but my girlfriend is asking me to figure this one out:
Is it possible to make the pet window resizable, to allow her to see the full name of the pet? Apparently the fact that she can't see the whole name is bugging her. I think what she's wanting to do it turn it into a thin strip like insomniac's stat strip, if that gives you a vague idea. Is that doable? I'm sitting on her character right now to make sure the window isn't resizable and it isn't. Can this be modded? Also, can any of y'all tell me how to change the color of the eq2 button? I see a lot of the ui's that have different colors than the gold that's standard. I suppose I'm going to try and teach myself to do this stuff, and that seems like as easy a place to begin as anywhere else. Thanks for the time and the ui's Shamah Steamfont |
Yes, that's doable. I'll whip one up as soon as I'm done with what I'm doing at the moment. Ironicly, it's a Pet window. :p

Bah. /Gamedata.Pet.Name is hard-coded to cut off at 14 characters. I'll see if I can script it in from the tooltip.

Here's the goods. You/she will have to hover the mouse over the name to get the full name to show. And I believe the color is stuck that way.
About the EQII button: The easiest way to change it is by editing mugshots_female.DDS. (Save the edited copy in UI/(Your UI Folder)/images) |
You can tint the start button graphics by tweaking the forground or background color (forget which) in the style settings embedded inside the window. I recently set these styles to allow the image to scale and shrunk the button to 3/4 scale ;)

Well, you got me lots of kisses, so I think she's happy with it. :) Now I'm really curious how it is that I read somewhere that the buttons aren't movable, but they move with the window resize. /shrug Something else for me to try and figure out. Again, thank you for the help

I'm glad she likes it. :)
Of course, now with our scripting knowledge, we can make text buttons (and fake icons too, probably) that call the pet commands, and place them anywhere. OnPress="pet=(attack) pet=(attack)" OnPress="pet=(followme) pet=(followme)" etc. (Fake icons would use OnActivate) |
