Changing the default skin
Here is the info you are after....
Setting the skin at client start. Create a new file called eq2.ini in the EverQuest II directory Edit it like so ---------------------------------------------- cl_ui_skinname Allure (this is the folder name of mod, not the name found in eq2ui_skininfo.xml) cl_ui_subdir UI/ ---------------------------------------------- This will load the skin in the directory "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II Beta\UI\Allure" at client startup. Patching wont remove this file, so you will be sweet. You can thank me later. :) Now get to work. |
/bow
sweet thank you. how'd you figure this out?? |

Using the client testing /a TAB then /b TAb, etc found /c TAB listed lots of cl_ commands, which match ones in the ini files. Put borked values in cl_ui_skin and watch what Everquest does with the value. Happy to help. Nice mods you have done so far, I have them in my UI mod. I look forward to using my XML skills when I get some time. |
woohoo!
Nice find |

made a minor tweak, to point out the name is the folder name not the skininfo name.

how do we reload in game to view our changes? just zone? or do we actually have to camp out and back in like we used to in eq1?

or you can do what i do and make a window that is drawn the second everquest2.exe kicks in. doing all your tweaking, spacing ect. in the custom window is alot faster. |
