Odd error message.

I've attached a .jpg image of the error I get. I have new PC running 64x win7 and i have .net 3.5 (3 something I forget). eq2maps updater runs and up dates just fine but gives the posted error when loading eq2. I tried linking the launch to the station launcher "launchpad.exe" and the game will load but the maps are unchanged. If it matters I have eq2 installed on a separate HDD. I've tried various ways of running it including comparability modes and as admin. I also tried clearing the cache and a full new down load as well as uninstalls and re-installs to include your new 1.2.5 I saw in forum (the original error was from 1.2.4) . That about covers all the information i can think of.
I remembered one important thing I have no drive E: Any help would be great I've used eq2 maps in past on older systems it was great (imagine it still is lol) |
EQ2MAP updater updates an old EQ2 installation and not your current one (change the path). That old installation is crashing, not EQ2MAP.

There was never an E: directory and this is a brand new system I just build about a week ago from new parts it can't possibly have another install that's conflicting.

Well fact is your maps are unchanged, i.e. EQ2MAP did not get installed to your active EQ2 install. And fact is further that the EQ2 that you linked to your EQ2MAP updater is crashing, whereas (I assume) the EQ2 your launch manually does not crash. Draw your own conclusion from it if you can, I gave you the only one that makes sense to me. :)
PS: Ignore the E: drive thing, that's not related to your install but rather the drive SOE compiled it on. |
I'm back to square one -.- and i have pointed eq2maps to the correct install about 8 times with different installs. installs of eq2maps that is.
Is it an issue that I have EQ2 installed on a drive that is not my boot drive? I'd like to mark this as the time i gave up. at 19:07 my time. |
Do you have it pointing to the correct UI directory (assuming you use other custom UI mods found here, otherwise the updater will create its own directory & eq2.ini file)?
