Notification of changes to ProfitUI

I wondered how I could get an email notification that something in ProfitUI has changed.

This recent business with the persona window has made me wonder how I will know when the new persona window will be in the Updater so I can stop ignoring it.

You can make an interface a favorite and get notifications through eq2interface when it has changed, but the Updater has not changed since 2010, so I don't think that will give me the info I need.

I am interested in being notified when the individual ProfitUI elements are changed and when they are added to the Updater.

Appreciate any help. Thanks!

You can probably check the changelog in the updater to see when new changes are pushed.

Its pretty easy... if there's a patch, there is a good chance there could be a change to Profit. I usually will pop in here quick on patch days (big patches, not normal hot fixes) to see if there's any changes that haven't yet hit the updater. The updater tends to be a couple of days behind, mostly to ensure its pushing out as non-buggy a file as possible.

An automatic notification of some kind would be nice. Yes, it's easy enough to prowl the site and the forums, but it would be easier to simply be told when something had changed. Not sure how that would be implemented. Silat can comment on that when he has a chance.

That would not really be me...maybe eq2interface could send out an email to all downloaders of profitui when it is updated. I don't really feel like it is that hard to launch the updater and read the changelog if you want to see what, if any updates there have been.

Welcome back!

That would be cool if EQ2i could do that. They have the mechanism set up if you "favorite" an interface. Is there a non-updater set of the interface? That would do the trick I think.

I don't usually sign on using the updater by personal preference and would find this useful.

Thanks and I (we all) really appreciate you! ;)

The version Profitui Maintained, located here, is the one I try to keep up to date as well as the updater itself.

Edit: Just a note, I updated the manual version of profitui maintained at the link above today.

Here's an option if you're looking for a fairly easy way to pull this off.

Create a thread to use for future releases. When you do an update, post the release notes in that thread. Tell everybody that want's to know about updates to go to that thread and at the top, where it says "Thread Tools", click "Subscribe to this Thread". From that point on, every time you add a new message to that thread, EQ2Interface will send an email to everyone that has subscribed.

That's how Zonx does it with FetishNightfall and it works quite well.

That seemed like a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. Thread is here:

Hopefully it will be stickied soon.
