Another Windows 7 install problem

I've followed the directions to set up the eq2.ini file. I set up the bobsui inside the UI folder. I downloaded the program as per the wizard settings.

EQ2 maps loads, updates and then does the auto start as I am familiar with from my older Windows XP computer.

I then get this error message --

Miles Error
MSS DLL file is installed in Windows or Windows system directory. It must be installed in the application directory.

Hit OK and this pops up -

EQ2 settings.exe - App Error
unable to start (0xc0000142) Click OK to close the app

Clicking OK this pops up -
c3dx9_31.dll is missing - reinstall program.

I have reinstalled the program and continue to get the same error. I have researched this forum and do not find other issues on the MSS DLL miles error.

Non related -- I can and do have EQ2 up and running without the EQ2Maps and that does show the map with some poi and flags and group member dots. I just can't get all the poi information updated.

Thanks for any help which you might post.

Make sure the EQ2MAP updater is pointing to the same place as the shortcut you use to launch EQ2 normally (where it works). I'd be willing to bet they're pointing to different installs; if they were one and the same then launching EQ2 from the updater should be the same as when you launch it from the shortcut.
