Path button not working
I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly but isn't the Path button (upper right corner of the in-game map) supposed to give you a glowing light path/trail to the POI selected? If so, I'm having problems getting it to work. If not, then I've misunderstood it's intended purpose. Basically here's what I do:
- Type in the name of a POI - Click the Find button - Select it in the search results on the right (tried both the name and the POI co-ords below it) - Click the Path button The best result I get is that occasionally the POI will flash on the map (not always), and then I have to double click it myself on the map to get the light trail to follow. Problem is that it's sometimes very difficult to see the selected POI on the map. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling EQ2Map as well as "Re-download all files" in the Options menu. I'm running: - EQ2MAP-Updater-1.2.4 - DrumsUI_full_release1.18 Any help would be highly appreciated. |
The tooltips says "Create Path from Waypoint entered into Search Field". While, after re-reading it now, I agree it might be slightly unclear, it is meant to say that you need to enter waypoint coordinates into the search field and then press the button. The button is equivalent to the /waypoint x,y,z chat command. Double-clicking POIs in the list is the only other way.

I appreciate the prompt response and clarification. I did read the tooltip but misunderstood it's meaning thinking that you needed to select the co-ords from the list on the right. Guess I'll just stick to hunting down and double clicking the POIs on the map itself. I wouldn't even play EQ2 if it weren't for EQ2maps so I'll take whatever I can get :) Keep up the great work!
Edit: Double clicking the POIs or Co-ords in the results list on the right is supposed to give you a path/trail? As I've tried that as well but it's never worked for me. Only clicking them on the map itself does that for me. |
Yes, you are right, double clicking in the list should light them up briefly on the map helping you locate them, then clicking them on the map itself sets a waypoint.
This behaviour is provided by the game and not modifiable by us. |
Thanks again for the clarification. That functionality works as you've mentioned for me. So I guess all is in order. Thanks again for your time :)
