implied target gone fubar

Alright, I searched around a little and found that if your UI doesn't include

<include>eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml</include>

then for some reason it will go messy. Mine didn't, so I added it. I'm using Nature v1.4. So I went to the eq2ui.xml and added that line into it and logged in and did /show_window mainhud.implied target and the target of target window loads up but it's black and blank. Even when other people have me targeted. I can't escape like I used to be a ble to to get rid of it. I've tried to use the default one. I've tried everything I can imagine. I'm lost. any ideas?

I don't want to reload my whole ui because this is the only problem I am having and I love my UI how I have it setup. I need my implied target though. It's important to me as a healer. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Needs to be added to eq2ui_mainhud.xml, not eq2ui.xml

antoniaelle 02-15-2005 04:46 PM

I did that and I loggede out and logged back in and typed in show_window mainhud.impliedtarget and it's still showing a black screen

=/

should i remove it from the other place? the eq2ui.xml?

Deathbane27 02-15-2005 04:50 PM

Yes, remove it from eq2ui.xml.

Also, it should come up blank (except maybe with "Group" at the bottom) unless you have a valid implied target, which is a targetted groupmember targetting anything but you, or any targetted NPC targetting a groupmember. And it should automatically show itself when you do have a valid implied target, so don't use show_window.

antoniaelle 02-15-2005 04:59 PM

well, I think it's working now. This time it's no longer blank! It's showing up as group and lvl with nothing on it so it means it's there. Thanks so much that fixed all of that. so should I hide_window mainhud.impliedtarget and then it'll automatically come back up right when someone implies a target?

antoniaelle 02-15-2005 05:05 PM

well, it's not showing up as it should. I clicked on a person who was hailing a broker and it did not show up an implied target

Degolas 02-15-2005 05:36 PM

I have the same issue but different origin. I tried an UI, and since there is no implied target window, i wanted to get back to stock UI, and there, no more implied target window. How do i get it back please ?

UmbraNemo 02-15-2005 10:59 PM

You do know that this requires you to be in a group and targeting a group member who is targeting something other than you to display properly.

Degolas 02-16-2005 02:45 AM

Yes thx...
my problem is weirder than that actually. The implied target window works but :
- names of mobs are always in white
- i don't see the power
- it always shows implied target as a group encounter (even when it's a PC)
- i don't see the lvl info (the ^^ over the name)

I tried /show_window mainhud.impliedtarget, didn't do anything (/hide_window didn't do more). I tried alt+t a couple of time, same result. Last chance before delete/reinstall the game, completely delete my UI folder and take the one from my other computer...

First off, if you're using the default UI, just trash the contents of the UI/Default directory (not the directory itself) and the UI files should be downloaded by the patcher. No need to reinstall from scratch.

You may need to do a Complete File Scan from the patcher.

Secondly, the default Implied Target window does not include a power bar, just mob name, health bar, arrow indicator and group/solo indicator.

Normal behavior for the IT window is to only show when you have a GROUP member targeted that is targeting a mob. It does not show when you target someone out of group, an NPC or your pet.

If you force the window to display using ATL+T or /show_window, all you'll see is plaholders for the data elements and an empty health bar.

Finally, if you use all lower case with /show_window all you'll ever see is a dummy version of the window. /show_window is case sensitive when opening functioning windows.

Thx very much for this complete answer.
I'll try that asap when i get home, i'll also try to make the custom ui works since it's nice and i think that the IT window (even if not customized) was simply hidden by another window on top lol

What is the real /show_window for IT window then ?

taco-man 02-16-2005 10:14 AM

also if you have an old eq2ui_gamedata.xml in your custom folder the implied target wont work (as welll as some other things) if its in there, just delete it, it does absolutely nothing as far as making your interface look different, someone just put it in thier mod accidentally.

UmbraNemo 02-16-2005 05:17 PM

I belive it is /show_window MainHUD.Impliedtarget please correct me if I'm wrong.

antoniaelle 02-16-2005 10:34 PM

it works now!!

i wasnt grouping with people to test it! had a blonde moment! works now perfectly! :D thanks for the insight! :D

Delete eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml and eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml and you should revert to the default target and implied target windows with the graphical tier indicators (can I just say I hate those things? Especially having to redo them to fit with a 2x/4x window :p )

Melloman524 02-18-2005 01:06 AM

I agree, thats what should happen, but it doesent. It ends up looking like the original target window, no indicators, just a window, mob title and mob health. I tried copying eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml and eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml from the default directory into that dir, same result.

Mikeablah 02-21-2005 04:55 PM

With whatever UI I use, it comes out messed up. It sorta works but the name is missing =/

taco-man 02-21-2005 05:19 PM

make sure you dont have an eq2ui_gamedata.xml file in your custom ui folder, if you do delete it, and also if you have an eq2ui_mainhud.xml in you custom ui folder make sure it has
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml</include>
in it, if it doesnt add it below the target window include.

Melloman524 03-08-2005 01:56 PM

I dont have eq2ui_mainhud.xml in my custom folder...but its in the default ui folder
