Any file downloaded comes back as not a valid zip file.
Hey just before the maintenance thing about 30 mins ago or so I downloaded extreme ui and opened it. When I came back to download again (had opened just to see which files were modded) it gave me an error saying not a valid archive. I tried a few other files and getting the same thing. So I went to a couple other sites and opened zip files just fine there. Did something get messed up?
Did a bit more checking. Files from All but WoW Interface come back as invalid archives. Those at wowinterface download and open fine. |
Try now, I had mod_deflate on and didn't make an exception for zip/rar files. Most browsers can handle this but some reason yours may not. Either way it doesn't make sense to gzip a zip/rar file anyway.
What web browser are you using? *thread moved to correct forum |
using ie8 and still getting the same error. Invalid Archive tried on older files as well. All files on all sites but wow interface are coming back this way. Also just tried with firefox and got the same thing.
Ok got it to download with firefox. Not the browser I use so hopefully a reboot will allow me to use ie8 like I have for ages. Yep reboot seems to have done the trick |
Ok disabled mod_deflate until I get it to stop adding compression to the download.php
Should be fixed for you. Weird thing is I cant get the error on any browser but then again I use winrar by rarlabs so maybe thats why. Reason why wowinterface works for you is because of the amount of traffic it gets it has a dedicated mysql server, php server and download server. The download server is running a light weight deamon called nginx and has no compression because all it does is send out zip's and rar's. |
