C:\Program Files\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II
C:\Program Files\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II\EverQuest2.exe are the path files. |
I'm guessing your running win7 or winVista...
Searching our forums "Error Opening Database File" brings up threads with the solution to right click and run as administrator. Those operating systems disallow 3rd party apps to write to the program files folder. So if you have EQ2 installed in the program files folder you will need to give the application admin access. Or you can move EQ2 into something like c:\games\EverQuest II\ and not have to give it admin access. |
running in windows xp and all i found was this:
Problem: Using it on Windows Vista/Windows 7, you may get error messages ending like this: at EQ2MAPUpdater.MainWindow.DownloadUpdates()Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\EQ2MAP Updater\cache\' is denied. Solution: Right-click on the icon you use to start the EQ2MAP Updater, click on properties and then click on the compatibility tab. Now check the box to run this program as an administrator and click ok. And all I found under the compatibility tab was: run this program in compatability mode for: (drop down window has the folllowing) windows 95 windows 98/ me windows nt 4.0 (service pack 5) windows 2000 |
