Thin Player Window? [Example Included]

1 Attachment(s)
I was wondering if it would be possible to make a player window similar to the one I made in MSPaint. Also, if a Target/ Implied Target could be made similar to this, it'd be great.

Is this possible?

Deathbane27 02-12-2005 05:36 AM

Yes, it's very much possible.

Are you running Windows XP? If so, you can make this window yourself in UIBuilder without much more effort than it took to make that in Paint. :) Just base it off a window that already has those text labels, and move stuff around. (And change WC_Frame's RStyleDefault to /Framestyles.single_pixel)

FenixStryk4 02-12-2005 05:39 AM

Hmm, I guess I'll see what I can do, but I'm pretty much a noob to UIBuilding

tonyis3l33t 02-12-2005 06:12 AM

too easy.

make a folder next to default ui called myui
copy your mainhud_player.xml from default ui
copy eq2ui.xml, too.
do the ini file described in installation guide

open the builder, open the eq2ui.xml from your myui folder.

move the stuff around. resize the frame and save it.

its a pain in the butt to move the stuff around, i the window pretty much has no info, i can't really see anything in it.

tonyis3l33t 02-12-2005 07:43 AM

mebbe you have to move it up. Select MainHUD.Player window in the tree and hit the ^ arrow that sits as a button above the tree

Hmm... I'm still messing with it, but while I do, can you tell me if the viewport window is supposed to look that black?

tonyis3l33t 02-12-2005 08:06 AM

read my post again. It says open eq2ui.xml, not the player.xml

Because you open directly the xml file, the thing to do is :

1 - Copy the eq2ui.xml from the Default directory on your own UI directory
2 - Open UIbuilder and open the eq2ui.xml from your directory
3 - Go on MainHUD (left) to select what you want to edit
4 - Click on MainHUD (right) on the screen view to show what you edit

Most of the time, somes bigs UI part hide what you want to edit, the only solution i have found is to attrib Visible=False (with the small eyes on the left part most of the bigger window by clicking on it) and after, before saving, reput them visible

Voila :p

Laffs 02-12-2005 10:28 AM

Thats a good idea Hideki I will try that now :)

Let me know if it works Fenix please, I left the conc bubbles in as they wernt shown on your pic and didnt know if you needed them or not, can take them out easy enough if you donr want them in there.

FenixStryk4 02-12-2005 10:58 AM

Conc Bubbles doesn't matter as long as it fits well with the pic, I'm about to test it, just gotta finish another DL. If I like it, I'll let you know, and if you want to help out more thereafter, you can make a Target/Implied window to match, that is, if you want to and don't mind at all.

I like the mod, but it's not exactly lined up right. Take a look at the screenie. There's a deep red and navy bar just on the side for some reason.

The top part is what your mod looked like ingame, and the bottom what I think I have in mind.

Laffs 02-12-2005 11:36 AM

Oks thanks for that info,

Will have a look at it again now... I know where I messed up just learnt somthing new about the UI builder you can drag the whole page containing say the health bar insted of each little bit lol .... thats where I messed the alingment up

*EDIT* made it a bit more compact, not sure how close I can go to each object with out them overlapping and not displaying properly.

Eloa, I tried making it but I cant seem to see what IM doing nor can i figure out how you guys found that way around it. I'll try again when I can but, for now...

Anyway, thanks a bunch Laffs, I'll test em asap

Laffs 02-12-2005 02:04 PM

No problem bud... Glad to be of some help to sombody :)

Besides its given me an idea to add some more stuff in there on another version of it me been playing with  ... I can mess with and mix and match people's UI pieces but unable to make my own from scratch at the moment, think I see If I can get the other version in the downloads section for peeps to either use or laugh at hehe whatever the case maybe :D

FenixStryk4 02-12-2005 02:05 PM

Theyre nice, Ill use em for now and try to tweak em myself to my liking. thanks for the help.

Laffs 02-12-2005 02:41 PM

If you get stuck playing with them yourself post me another picture on here of what you want changed added etc and I will do my best..

The UI builder is quite easy once you get to know way round it a bit, me learnt some new stuff just by messing with this today lol so we both got somthing outta it :D

Using your screenshot from above, click on the farthest right arrow over and over againt until it stops changing. Then choose the Background tab just to the left of the left/right arrows. Then you will be able to see everything (but without Graphics).

This is the mode I work in, It probably takes me longer to make my mods, but I do most of my modding at work.
