Spells typing in the chat window instead of casting
 

Every so often my spells start going in my chat window instead of casting the spell. I can hit delete a few times and that works until I move, then it does it again. This is a real nightmare during a really heavy raid. Only thing that fixes it is to log totally out of EQ2 then back in. I keep thinking I must be hitting a series of keys without knowing it to cause this, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. (Clean install done)

That will happen if you hold shift and click on the hotkey. Do you have a very old keyboard with shiftlock?

NOpe....it's a brand new one and this happened with my old one too. (old one being only about 2 years old.

I've occasionally had the keyboard appear to get a "stuck" key of some sort. Most often for me it's a shift key (shift, control or alt), and tapping on those keys a few times unsticks it. For a friend it seems to be a movement key, her character will start spinning in place and she's got to randomly tap on keys and click the mouse until some key clears it. We both use wired USB 2.0 keyboards (mine's a Logitech G15 v2, hers is a brand-new Microsoft ergonomic keyboard) so it's not wireless weirdness or slow USB. It seems to be a driver or app glitch, with a key-up event getting lost somewhere, and I haven't been able to replicate it out-of-game or even reliably in-game.

Well, i am also having this problem on my desktop pc , on a logitech g15, but i am also having it on my laptop....couple of times hitting the shift key fixes it though. But , nevertheless it is very annoying trying to heal your group in a fight and have this problem appear out of nowhere .

I can assure you this isn't profit related only. I have had this happen and windowed out loaded notepad and checked to see if keys were typing strangly in it. I have had shift stick caps stick and ctrl stick many times. The chat box issue should be /bugged to SoE but I tend to think its more related to windows and the accessability applet. I know I removed most of those and seldom get this issue now unless of course a key does indeed stick.

Hmm. My friend who has this happen had some problems with the accessibility stuff popping up. I'll have to check her settings to make sure all that stuff is disabled. Thanks for the idea here.

Wasn't the stuck keys bug caused way back by the voice chat feature? But yeah the UI cannot change/access keybinds.
