Multiple EQ directories
Hi all,
I have a silly situation on EQ2. To avoid to patch for hours each time I switch from EQ2 US to EQ2 FR, I setup two directories for EQ2, on US and another one for French servers. This bring to two questions: 1. Can I install a second version of EQ2 Map updater for the FR directory ? 2. Is there a way to tell EQ2 Map to choose the directory without changing manually settings ? If none of those question have a positive answer, does anyone knows a way to point French or EU servers without switching language ? Thanks in advance guys ! |
Symbolic links are your friend my friend :)

Thanks a lot :) I have updated both directory. I don't want to be annoying but could I do something to make a EQ2MAP_FR and EQ2MAP so when I use them they go on different path ? I put both on my desktop but changing one setting, change the second one as well :)
Or would it work if i was placing them in two different directories ? :p |
Landiin was referring to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link
It's a way to make 2 folders have identical content, meaning you will only need to update one and the update appears in both locations. PS: Or for older Windows versions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_junction_point |
Sorry, English is not my first language and I have a bit hard time to understand exactly what to do with the link you forwarded me. But I'm gonna look into it :)
Thanks for your time guys. |
