can't get eq2maps to work
Howdy,
I am using windows 7 which I'm growing to hate. Today I installed eq2maps to c:\programfiles(x86)\sonyonlineentertainment\installed games\everquestII\eq2map.exe I go into my eq2 folder listed above, right click on eq2 map icon, rightclick, run as administrator. The Eq2map updater screen comes up. It then says retrieving file manifest. It then says updating 1 of 635 files. Then it just sits there like a bump on a log. It stays stuck on updating 1 of 635 files. it stays stuck right at that point indefinitely. I have to close it to stop it. It has the update from 1/26/2010 with all the nu'ruga maps. I am at my wits end. I've looked through the threads here and can't find out what to do. I'm not very techy so this is a challenge. HLEP! |
try unistalling it and i use windows 7 and just sling it in program files in its own folder no need to put it in yur eq2 directory once its installed just run it and point it to where yur eq2 directory is in my case D/sony/everquest2/ui/profitui
note i dont even have eq2 or any game for that matter in program folder so no need to run as admin ect seems a lot of vista/windows 7 problems come from putting it into /programs folder ect ect. hope helps :) |
How do I get into eq2 maps to reconfigure the settings. I need to check to see what I'm pointing eq2maps to.
I tried installing in it's own folder and still get the same result. Maybe it's how I configured it |
I tried installing in it's own folder and still get the same result. I don't understand how this patcher works. The old patcher worked just fine without a hitch on my old Windows XP computer. I am hating Windows 7 because it seems like it's more complex to set up EQ2, custom UIs, and EQ2 Maps.
In the Updater under everquest 2 options in the I'm pointed to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II\ Station launcher is confusing me too. Am I supposed to be pointing to station launcher or to everquest 2 folders? What are the other checkboxes in the updater? Which of those should I have checked? |
First install the Updater to its own folder, the best is the default folder.
Your everquest 2 folder looks right, but you can always press browse and select your everquest2.exe file again. If you use Station launcher please change Autolaunch EQ2 to station launcher file else use default, eq2.exe. No need to change any of the options , should work fine as they are. |
