Click to Cure issues
First, been using Profit for the last year and have not had any issues. Recently transfered servers when I stumbled upon thisC2C issue. I am a mage with innate arcane cure.
Symptoms: C2C (using a pot from inventory, not innate arcane cure) ceases to work AFTER I zone while in raid/group. It appears to continue to work if I am soloing. I see the message "Item not in inventory". My innate arcane C2C continues to work, as it does when I switch to my healer - all cures work. This seems to be solely limited to the use of potions from your inventory. Note that before I zone anywhere, I can use C2C. After I zone, it stops working. Occassionally, after zoning multiple times, it will randomly begin working again. Its as if it can no longer load the C2C files. Testing I have executed clean installs of both Profit, then EQ2 THEN Profit again and this issue still exists. I have disabled (but not uninstalled) virus software. I have recursively set the file properties to be r/w however often they will reset back to just read only. I am very interested in getting this issue resolved. Thanks for any help/assistance |
Your not alone in seeing that, wardens, defilers and templars in our raid force have the same issues happening randomly, though for them (and my baby defiler, where ive seen it happen once) it is ALL cures, inate spell cures and potions.
Reinitializing the class detector - GM9 posted how to do that as a solution for someone who where using just the raid window from profit - seems to work from what i've been told - i play an Inquisitor and i have so far not have it happen to me ever on that toon. Not sure if some of the latest changes that soe done to the ui have somehow created a situation where the class detection somehow gets reset or otherwise invalidated. However it seems to be happening Alot more since gu53 Oh and yes, profit is fully updated etc. |
Update: The class detector fix does not fix it either, just had it happen tonight with a warden friend of mine, and after redoing the classdetector his cures still didnt work.

We just had 15 of 24 have to relogin to be able to cure in a VS fight. I wonder 'you dont that spell or ability anymore'
|
Yes, that is the issue I have.

All you need to do is look back on this forum and see issues going back at least 2 weeks.
The solution you would have thought would be to edit the cures file but that doesn't help. Randomly you can't cure yourself with innate or pots, and sometimes the group window hotbutton cures/give shards/etc comes up with things such as "Parent.Parent.Parent.Parent.....(insert more XML code speak)". |
Regardless the issue still exists. Did a fresh install of EQ2 and a fresh install of Profit and it seemed to become even more broken. I will install Win7 next weekend, maybe there might be some hope there. Very frustrating...

Is anyone actually investigating this issue or am I on my own?
|
It seems to be random. I am sure someone is looking into it but from my experience all I have to do is relog or reboot and hope for the best. It's inconvenient but it won't kill me. For now, it's a temporary fix to a random bug. It happens to me on various accounts, especially if more than one is up at the same time on the same pc. And also on my laptop. So it could be anything. But, like I said, a relog or reboot tends to fix it.

Just recently I started getting this problem with dedicated noxious potions from the cure icon. All 3 other pots worked fine. The problem just appeared suddenly; I have no idea why it started. Relogging didn't fix the issue.
I noticed in the file 'UI.log' in /Sony/EverquestII/ there where error references to a file 'map_links.xml' on about line 630 is this text: Tooltip="Nektulos Forest (ID:23506:Zone in & out of Nektulos Forest)" I opened this file in DevStudio and it compiled with an error; complaining about the ampersand &. What I did was replace the '&' with 'and' and it fixed the compile error. When I logged back in, this issue went away and I could fire off my nox pots. But I was still getting the same warning message in chat saying 'You may only use items in your inventory'. And the UI.log file was complaining about not finding a resource in file 'eq2ui_examine_.xml'. Now, this file doesn't exist in the profit UI directory, but 'eq2ui_examine.xml' does. I tried renaming this file with an underscore but the messages were still there and the UI.log file had entries in it: Couldn't load .xml Encountered data outside of container tags ... Renaming the file didn't seem to break anything but I'll rename it back to original. Anyway I stopped looking at this, since I can use nox pots, I'm good. But something definitely fishy with these files; the dev should investigate and fix. |
Those are old cosmetic issues with EQ2MAP. They're not what would be causing you to have issues with potions.
What you did that cleared the issue was probably you logging in and out. There's lots of things in UI.log that are sort of 'notices' rather than errors. On a related note, I went ahead and removed the ampersand from that POI. It wasn't causing a problem, but the description was technically incorrect anyway. |
I had the same problem on my Fury after I installed Profit for the first time 3 weeks ago (cure spell "no longer in my spell book" or something like that, after zoning).
I edited the _ProfitUI_SubclassDetector.xml as gm9 said a while back, changing line 3 to: <Text DynamicData="/GameData.Self.SubClass" Name="SC" OnTextChanged="show_window Custom.ProfitUI_SubclassDetector and I haven't had a problem since. I even created a macro to re-run the sub-class detector if I had the problem again, but I never had to use it. It also seemed from what I read that opening and closing the Profit UI settings window might also re-run the class detector. |

It should in no way be a source of click-to-cure issues though. |

lordebon, the links actually never get updated, my code only gets one shot at importing them, if the POI description is not formatted in a way at that time which allows it to automatically find the destination zone from the POI name (optimal format is simply "To ZoneName" although it understands many other variations) it is dropped for all eternity. ;) Quote:

Any chance of seeing a resolution to the C2C issues soon? We sorta "speed raid" and to relog before each raid instance is extremely time consuming. Again this issue didnt arise until I transfered servers (if there should be any correlation).
|
I am also having problems on my illusionist. I just came back after a good 5 month break and updated everything and the click to cures don't work and the little icons in my group windows (for me I mainly use the one for mana flow) says parent.parent. etc...
