Quick-cast Buttons with Spell Icons:
 
DarqUI Group Window with Macro/Spell Icons and Cure Check has quick cast buttons with Spell Icons .... I would love to see Spell icons instead of numbers in the group window for Profit UI ... I have a lot of alts and being able to see spell icons would be very helpful!

Love Profit, and I think this would be a great addition, if possible.

I've often wished for icons rather than numbers for the Quick Raid Buttons in ProfitUI. DarqUI looks great and I love the configurator for it, but it only has 3 sets and no class detector like ProfitUI. I suspect that it would be difficult to make ProfitUI's button data include iconstyles/image info for 5 buttons for each of 24 classes. (My only XML knowledge is from pulling apart UI pieces and putting them back together; the class detection code in Profit is way beyond me :))

One idea I'd had to try to modify Profit's QRBs, is to make them always transparent and underlay them with copies of the last 5 spaces in hotbar 10. (I have no idea if this is remotely possible.) If this worked, it should mean that you could have easily changeable icons for the QRBs, they would darken/light up automatically based on recast timers, and with just a small sacrifice of half of a hotkey bank. As long as the transparent buttons completely covered them there should be no worry about accidentally dragging/interacting with the underlying hotbar fragment.

If any of the great UI makers have any advice for this endeavor, please share it. I've figured out a lot of little tricks, but I have no real encompassing grasp of what can and can't be done.

It's technically trivial to add the icons to the QRB buttons, the real work lies in creating a database with all the spell names and linking them up to the respective image files, i.e. to create a configurator like Darqwood seems to have done.

ObsidianDragon, no, you can't link them to hotbars directly (not since GU27 anyway).
